קורות סגן יאיר נבנצאל הי''ד -באנגלית

הי"ד - Lt. Yair Nebenzahl
Son of Adina and Menachem.
Born on 29.07.79 in Petah-Tiqva.
Brother of Tzahi, Yoav and Yael. When Yair was eight months old, the family moved to Neve Tzuf [Halamish], out of a desire to strengthen the Jewish settlement in the Shomron. Yair absorbed his love of his country in Neve Tzuf and there formed his faith.
Yair studied at the national religious school of Neve Tzuf. After graduating he continued his studies at "Kiryat Yaakov Herzog Junior High School" in Kfar Saba and graduated with the 49th graduating class of "Midrashiyat Noam" high school in Pardes Hana.
During his studies, Yair was a Chanich in Bnei-Akiva, and continued as a councelor at the Or Akiva and Neve Tzuf branches.
Yair decided to continue his studies within the framework of Hesder in the "Golan Yeshiva" in Chispin, out of the will to build his religious charcter, which, in the future, would become a commanding and leading personality in the I.D.F.
Yair was distinguished by his tall figure and his dignified power. He was blessed with a good heart, tenderness and a unique humanity, all of which were always interwoven with a warm smile and illuminating face. Yair was an honest person, grateful and truthful. The determination, the faith and the confidence in his way were always combined with sensitivity, gentleness, courage and modesty.
Yair loved his motherland, Eretz-Israel. His many hikes at every opportunity expressed that love. He knew almost every road, byway and creek. His feet knew the stones of his land. He walked its lanes uprightly, always leading with pride as if saying: "This is my home".
As aforesaid, Yair began his studies at the "Golan Yeshiva" in Elul, during which time he was recruited to the I.D.F. In the month of Nisan [March 1999], at the end of the first phase of the Yeshiva studies, Yair had started the combat course in the Givati regiment. After finishing the combat course, he returned to the Yeshiva for a period of several months, until he commenced the officers course. In March 2001 Yair finished the course, became an officer and was placed in the communication brigade for electronic combat.
His soldiers spoke of him…"Yair's greatness was expressed by being a commander and an officer, who did not allow his personality to change, except to increase his humanity… The good heart, modesty, humility and the will to help were of his outstanding characteristics"
Late Friday afternoon, Parashat Behar - Behukotai 18.05.2001 Yair died in a terrorist act near Neve-Tzuf. He was shot by terrorists, on the road which leads to the settlement he loved so much and in which he grew, while the sun was setting, ready to welcome Shabbat.
"Veahavta et Hashem elokecha… bechol nafshecha…uvelechtecha baderech"

"And thou shall love The Lord your G-d …with all your soul … and as you go on the way"

May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
